 For over 20 years, Tin Tin Collectables has been trading in Alfies Antique Market in Marylebone’s Church Street, specialising in finely restored vintage luggage, travel goods, and sporting antiques.

Tin Tin is primarily known for it's extensive selection of trunks and suitcases; These large, and sometimes cumbersome, pieces belonged to a long-gone era of luxury travel involving stream trains and ocean liners - the notion that these could be presented to today's budget airlines is, frankly, laughable!

Back in the heyday of sailing back and forth across the Atlantic or travelling by the Orient Express from Paris to Istanbul, these pieces would  have formed an indispensable part of a first class travellers entourage - packed, carried, maintained and unpacked by your staff,  this luggage would have been expected to last a lifetime. No one knew that the invention of air travel would render these beautiful pieces purposeless! Manufacturers and august retailers soon realised that in order to survive in a rapidly changing market, they needed to evolve and produce the lighter and more manageable luggage popular today.

For many decades, these magnificent reminders, of an era long lost, sat gathering dust in the attics of the great and the good until someone realised that they could be re-purposed as excellent usable storage solutions in today's smaller apartments  - whether as coffee, side, or occasional tables, end of bed storage, window seats, or smart console under mirrors.

Some find their way into the interiors of smart shops from London's Bond Street, to New Yorks 5th Avenue.

Vintage luggage from Tin Tin Collectables is fully restored and re-polished and comes in a wide variety of sizes and colours, and we stock many of the great brands including, Moynat, Fichet of Paris, Brookes, Moritz Madler & Bon Marche to name a few.

Our Item of the Day: The Cutest Bulldog You'll Ever See!

Whilst perusing through our site, I decided to search for Victorian items (a personal favourite era) - and found this incredible Papier Mache pup that I had to share with you.

I immediately fell in love with it. As you can see, the mouth is able to open, showing a full set of teeth, and the pup has a wonderfully whimsical fur collar. He looks like he could add a little breath of history into any child's bedroom, or could be a key centrepiece in any room for any true dog lover. 

It would fit well into rooms of neutral colour and texture as a centrepiece, or could add a touch of playfulness to children's bedrooms, the trend-setting teenager, or for any lover of creative design - it's quite the unique piece!
